Project: “Even Monsters Are Afraid of Lice” In-store Posters + Social Media Content

Details

I helped the local small-business, Nitpickerz, see that the science and facts of a head-lice infestation is interesting to kids and parents. We did 4 posters for the client’s location. These were hung up in October, which tied into Halloween so well.

What I love about this concept is it taps into the thought that you aren’t alone in being grossed out by lice, and these take some of the mystery (and fear) away by providing factual information. The “why” behind the yuckiness. It’s all fun and a bit gross – things kids generally like!

These were also used online with ads on social media targeted at parents the month of Halloween.

I did the concept, layouts (stock imagery), and copy writing.

Project: LGBT Men’s Book Club Graphics

Details

Digital graphics for my monthly book club. The book club didn’t have much of an identity beyond it’s name and the club was wanting to have more presence and attract more members. What I suggested to the club was marking all of their social media posts and website images with recognizable graphics.

The graphics all communicate the LGBT aspect of the group, while maintaining the ideas of a Book Lover.
My favorite thing about these is they would be useful as a series of stickers.

Project: Private-Practice Doctor Flipbook

Details

With the exception of the TikTok screenshots, everything in this needed to be stock imagery. Which is something I am fairly well-versed in — pulling impactful stock images, that align with brand identity.

In this instance the client’s brand is celebrating the beauty of Black Americans.

Project: Award Show Graphics – Digital Trophies

Details

One of my clients, Twin Cities Wedding & Event Professionals, came to me for help getting more buzz with their bi-annual award’s show. After reviewing their offerings and looking over their beautiful cut-glass awards, and realizing that most of their members are entrepreneurs, I suggested the addition of digital awards to be given out to the award-winners for placement on the winner’s websites.

This accomplishes several things, but top of my mind are that it provides the winner with something tangible to place on their website that shows a third-party approval, and provides Twin Cities Wedding & Event Professionals with links back to their website too. Great for SEO. A win-win all around.

These award designs are not terribly “original” but they are immediately recognized as an award and serve that aim well.

Project: “False Judgements” Marketing Campaign

Details

After the initial success of the “Even Monsters Are Afraid of Lice” posters, I helped the client concept a social media ad campaign focusing on those judgemental things we say in our heads about other people and about ourselves when we have lice. Sticking with the notion that people are interested in the Science of lice.

These were also used online with ads on social media targeted at parents the month of Halloween.

I did the concept, layouts (stock imagery), and copy writing.

Project: Podcast Launch, with Bold Graphic

Details

Another project with Twin Cities Wedding & Event Professionals involved designing a brand extension, they launched a podcast “Wedding & Event Insider” and didn’t want it to share the exact same logo for the podcast cover. This was mostly to avoid any confusion on what they do and offer.
I leaned into a very bold color scheme, which is slightly the inverse of what they already have in place for their logo. I amped it up.

Here’s one of the ways I use the podcast cover design in the “real world.” This is for their YouTube podcast thumbnails – incorporating the podcast episode guest’s image into a pre-built template.
